Terms of Service
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Koin Financial Tracker ("Koin"). By creating an account or using Koin you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Koin. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
What Koin is
Koin helps households keep track of paychecks, expenses, accounts and debt, and Bill Split helps people share costs and see who owes whom. Koin is a record-keeping and calculation tool.
Not financial, tax or legal advice
- Koin's reports, tax figures and Bill Split balances are estimates based on what you enter. Check them before you rely on them.
- Nothing in Koin is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Talk to a qualified professional for that.
- Koin does not move money. Bill Split shows who owes whom; paying each other happens outside Koin, between you and the other people.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old and give accurate information when you sign up.
- One account is for one person. Keep your password and any passkey private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you sign in with Google, you are also bound by Google's own terms for that account.
- If you invite people to your household Group or a Bill Split Party, you decide who you invite, and they will be able to see what those spaces show them.
Your information
The information you enter stays yours. You give Koin permission to store it and use it to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the information you enter, and for having the right to share anyone else's details you add, such as a friend's name in a Bill Split Party.
What you agree not to do
- Break the law, or use Koin to harass, deceive or harm anyone.
- Try to see another person's or household's information, or get around Koin's security or limits.
- Interfere with or overload the service, or use bots or scrapers to take data from it.
- Share your account, or send spam or unwanted invitations through Koin.
Plans and changes to the service
Koin may offer free and paid plans. Right now no payment is collected. If that changes we will tell you before anything is charged. We may add, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of changes that significantly affect you.
Ending your use of Koin
You can stop using Koin at any time and can ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Bill Split Parties may keep records that other members still need, such as past Expenses, without your personal contact details.
No guarantees
Koin is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it accurate, secure and running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Koin is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, or for decisions you make based on what Koin shows. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant. If you keep using Koin after a change, you accept the new terms.
